Grand Prize Winning Prints
Winners of the Grand Prize Awards in all three categories will be asked to donate one 11"x14" (or equivalent) size print to the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy to be auctioned or raffled off as a fundraiser at the organization’s Annual Meeting. Please see matting and framing specifications below. Please sign your print. You may frame your print if you prefer.

All Other Winning Prints
Winners of the Board’s Choice Award, and all Youth, High School and Adult category winners of First, Second and Third place are asked to provide one exhibition-quality print to exhibit and sell. Please see the exhibition requirements below. All of these winning images will be for sale at the price set by the artist. Exhibition images must meet the following criteria:

  • 16” x 20” outer dimension (matt, frame or stretched canvas size)
  • A typical matted image would consist of an 11” x 14” image size on a 16” x 20” matt
  • Matt boards should be white
  • Matted submissions should have a sturdy backing board and also be protected with plastic
  • Frames are allowed but are not required (black wood or metal are preferred)
  • Size variations may be allowed for panoramas and other unusual formats

If winners need assistance with matting and/or framing, special discounts will be available from our sponsor Middleton Art and Framing. Winners will also have the opportunity to sell their work at the exhibit. If work is sold, winners must agree to receive 60% of the sale price with 40% of sale price going to support FOPB education and conservation activities. Grand Prize winners must agree to donate one print to be raffled at the FOPB Annual Meeting.

Exhibit and Reception

All winning entries will be exhibited at Middleton Art and Framing at a time and date yet to be determined. Winners will be notified of all pertinent dates well in advance.

The Friends of Pheasant Branch will hold all unsold photographs until their annual meeting in late January, 2013. The art will again be exhibited and sold at this event. After the annual meeting, if the art piece has not been sold, the artist will then collect their art piece with no monetary compensation.

Art Sale

Grand prize images from all three categories will be auctioned or raffled at the Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy Annual Meeting in late January, 2013.

For all other winners, the artist will set their asking price for the winning image. The image, if sold, will have the asking price, after taxes have been deducted, divided where the artist retains 60% and Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy retains 40% of the proceeds from the print sale. The sponsor, Middleton Art and Framing, will take care of submitting tax revenue from the sale.
